NURSING AT NEO COLLEGE
The Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College's (NEO) Associate Degree Nursing Program for registered nurses began in 1974. NEO offers two pathways for completing a degree in nursing:
Associate in Applied Science Degree in Nursing: Traditional Pathway
Associate in Applied Science Degree in Nursing: Fast Track Pathway for licensed practical nurses and licensed paramedics
ASSOCIATE DEGREE IN NURSING
The Associate Degree Nursing program plan of study is designed to prepare a practitioner of nursing, who upon graduation is eligible to:
write the National Council Licensure Examination for registered nurses (NCLEX-RN)
enter the employment field as a registered nurse upon licensure by the State Board of Nursing
Student learning is supported by the fully equipped nursing skills lab in the Health Science Building; a state-of-the-art computer laboratory in the College's Learning Resource Center; and a variety of clinical experiences at area health care facilities, located within a 40-mile radius of the NEO campus.
TRADITIONAL PATHWAY
The traditional nursing program is offered on NEO's main campus in Miami, Oklahoma. The program includes 36 credit hours of general education and support courses and 36 credit hours of nursing courses. Full-time students typically complete the required 72 hours over a three year period. Students must make formal application to the Nursing Program as well as NEO College.
FAST TRACK FOR LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSES AND LICENSED PARAMEDICS
The NEO Associate Degree Nursing Program offers a Fast Track Bridge program for licensed practical nurses and licensed paramedics at the NEO-Grove Center, Grove, Oklahoma.
