The Music program at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College offers a comprehensive Associate of Arts Degree. Classes in the area of Vocal and Instrumental Performance provide a variety of options for those interested in a future in professional, educational or amateur fields of music.
An 875 seat Auditorium in the Fine Arts Center and a NEW 120 seat Recital Hall in Commons Hall provide modern venues for several major musical productions during the school year as well as various concerts and music festivals. The productions include a yearly children’s show that performs for over 3500 children from the four-state area and a major musical that combines the talents of the Music program and the Theatre program. Fall concerts as well as Springs concerts are performed in these venues. The Music Department also combines with the Speech/Theatre Department to produce a Medieval Feast during the Christmas holiday season.
The diverse curriculum provides the students with a wide variety of technical and performance classes to fit each individual’s particular interest, whether vocal or instrumental. At NEO, the value of practical hands on experience in addition to traditional lecture based information is a major priority. This provides the means for the student to continue with their college education as well as a solid foundation for a professional future in the music field.
