Border War Produces Iverson's 600th Win
Coach Eric Iverson reached his 600th win on Sunday's first game against West Texas Community College. The 9 - 0 deficit clenched the victory in the 5th inning for Iverson and his Lady Norse. Iverson, a former Golden Norse baseball player, has coached all 14 years of his career for Northeatstern A&M College and is carrying on the winning tradition of Norsemen athletics. Not only did this game top 600, but it also produced a no hitter for freshman pitcher, Kalleigh Chrz.
NEO had a productive first day with 3 wins. The first win came against NJCAA, 13th ranked Butler County College. The 3-1 victory started off the productive weekend of the Lady Norse. Capatilizing on solid defense and strong plate appearences led NEO to a solid victory over 3rd ranked, division II, Cowley County College. The 12-3 victory ended with a run rule in the 5th inning. The Lady Norse remained solid for their 4-1 victory against Jefferson College in the nightcap.
The ladies finished up on Sunday with a 2-0 win over Crowder College. This brings the Lady Norse to 32 and 1 on the season. The Norse will resume action at home on Tuesday with the Lady Trojans of Seminole at 4pm.
