Born, raised and educated in Welch, OK.  Graduated from Welch High School in 1968.

Education:
       Associate degree in Agriculture from NEO A&M - 1970.  Livestock judging team, VP Student Senate.           

        B.S. in Animal Science from Oklahoma State University - 1972.  Livestock judging team, meats judging team.

        M.S. in Animal Nutrition, Iowa State University - 1975.   Research in Growth and Development as affected by protein and caloric restriction in Sprague-Dawley rats.

        Attended Ozark Christian College, Joplin, MO, - 1975-1977.

        Ph.D.  in Ruminant Nutrition, Iowa State University - 1981.  Dissertation:  Effect of Body Size of Steers on Growth, response to estrodiol implants, and plasma levels of growth hormone, insulin, thyroxine and cortisol.

Experience:

1980-1983   New Mexico State University,  Department of Animal and Range Science.   Clayton Livestock Research Station.  Research on protein requirements of stressed, light weight calves.  Effects of supplements with and without Rumensin on growth and frequency/severity of bloat in steers grazing wheat pasture.  Effects of growth implants on stocker steers grazing native range.
