Welcome to my faculty web page. Please use this page for contact information, office hours, and access to the OIS 1113 Medical Terminology syllabus. I would also like to share a ittle bit about my work experience and education.
I began teaching in the NEO Nursing Program in 1990. I have two passions: teaching and nursing. Helping others is important to me. I particularly enjoying helping others learn and more importantly helping others learn how to learn.
I grew up in a rural farming community in western Missouri. After high school, I pursued a diploma in nursing from Research Medical Center School of Nursing in Kansas City, Missouri. Oklahoma has been my home since graduating from nursing school too many years ago to mention.
I practiced nursing for 12 years full-time, first in Tulsa and then in Miami. I taught in the NEO nursing program for four years. I then served as the Health Science Division Chair/Director of Nursing for four years, during which time I continued to teach part-time. I currently serve as the Dean for the School of Human Environmental Sciences.
While pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree, I took general education courses at NEO College. I completed my Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree at Pittsburg State University and my Master of Science Degree (in Nursing) at the University of Kansas (Medical Center). I am currently a student at Oklahoma State University, pursuing a Doctorate of Philosophy in Education. I plan to graduate in December of 2011.
I enjoy learning and, even more so, I enjoy helping others learn. Please feel free to contact me.
