Welcome to Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College! With on-campus housing and a variety of student clubs and organizations, NEO is the largest two-year residential college in the entire state of Oklahoma. NEO has experienced record enrollment growth over the past seven years and will enroll nearly 3,000 students during the 2013-2014 school year.
NEO has also produced record growth of college graduates. In May 2014, over 500 students graduated from NEO during the 93rd commencement ceremony. Since the 2006-2007 school year, NEO has increased the number of college graduates per year by 175. This is a 33 percent increase in the number of degrees conferred since the 2006-07 school year.
Officials at NEO A&M College strive toward achieving Complete College America’s degree completion goal supported by Gov. Fallin and the National Governor’s Association. This growth in NEO graduates is a testament to our outstanding faculty and staff. No other two-year college in the state of Oklahoma has a higher percentage of full-time faculty members per student than NEO.
Faculty members like Dr. Mark Grigsby, who has taught science at NEO for 26 years and has served as the department chair for more than a decade. Grigsby has been instrumental in developing the department’s newest addition – the Process Technology program, as well as working with the Peoria Tribe in developing a wetlands project where students will have a hands-on laboratory.
NEO is the only two-year college in the state of Oklahoma that can offer its student-athletes a state-of-the-art, intercollegiate football experience. NEO has a rich tradition of athletics, including football, softball, baseball, volleyball, men’s and women’s basketball and men’s and women’s soccer. Part of that tradition is that 50 Golden Norse Football alumni have played in the National Football League. Many Golden Norse athletes in all sports have been named to NJCAA All-American teams and have used NEO as a stepping stone to reach their academic and athletic goals.
NEO has two new additions to the Athletic Department – Equestrian (2012) and Wrestling (2013). The NEO wrestling team were National Champions in 2014, the programs first year. All of these accomplishments have added to the tradition that is known as Golden Norse Athletics.
NEO has ensured that success is attainable for students from all backgrounds. Assistance is available step-by-step through the admission and enrollment process. NEO features Student Support Services, which provides tutoring, supplemental instruction classes, career exploration, financial and personal counseling and workshops on study skills and job interview techniques for eligible students. This year alone nearly $17,000,000 in financial assistance will be provided to NEO students.
