Volunteering at the Boys and Girls Club
The NEO Honors Program partners with the Ottawa County Boys and Girls Club to support local youth. Volunteering at the Boys and Girls Club provides students the opportunity make a difference in our community by setting a positive example for children at the Club. There are three ways students can spend their time at the Boys and Girls Club:
Option 1: Power Hour
During this time volunteers will help students on homework, reading, and other school-related activities. Power Hour is held Monday thru Thursday from 4:30 pm to 5:15 pm.
Option 2: Friday Fun Night
Friday evenings at the Club are spent leading activities and games, or teaching lessons to the students. If your club or organization is interested in hosting a Friday Fun Night, please contact Keeley Adams at email@example.com. Friday Fun Nights typically need to be scheduled well in advance to make sure you’ll fit into the Boys and Girls Club schedule.
Option 3: General Volunteering
If you want to volunteer at the Boys and Girls club but cannot attend during Power Hour or a Friday Fun Night, you are welcome to volunteer throughout the day. The Boys and Girls Club staff can use support prior to students’ arrival.
