For new Pre-PTA students, call Sidney Morgan first. Sidney’s campus extension is 6396 and she is on campus some during the summer. (Enrollment plans are below.) Some other items to keep in mind when enrolling pre-PTA students are:

  • FYE 1011 is recommended now not required. However, we do require College Life & Success for new students with 3 or more deficiencies.
  • Physical Science for Physical Therapy is now a science prerequisite. It was developed in conjunction with the NEO PTA program and physical science faculty. It will only transfer as an elective. It has its own number PHYS1025 It is a prerequisite for A&P. PHYS 1114 will substitute for that course but Cellular Physiology and Chemistry will not and are not prerequisites. Physics I is only offered in the fall as well. The other Physics course that NEO offers with an engineering emphasis will not substitute for Phys. Sci. for PT.
  • There is a face-to-face Medical Terminology class that is offered in the fall as well as the online version.
  • We now require that all zero level Math courses be completed because the Physical Science for PT and Physics I both require that.
  • We have raised the suggested cumulative ACT score to 22 instead of 19.

The NEO PTA website is the source of information for prospective students. The website is www.neo.edu/pta. We don’t give our applications out in hard copy. They are available on the PTA website.

The PTA program begins on the first day of Summer School. Once the class has been chosen for that summer, the student will have to wait and apply for the following class to start a year later.
