Representatives from Cherokee Nation’s Higher Education Department will be at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College (NEO), from 4-6 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012 in the Student Union’s Calcagno Family Ballroom. All Cherokee tribal members interested in the tribe’s scholarship are invited to attend. “This is a great opportunity for area high school seniors, current college students and their families to meet one-on-one with Cherokee Nation education staff. In addition to the $2,000 per semester undergraduate scholarship, the nation is now paying up to $500 per semester for concurrent enrollment.

NEO staff also will be on hand to assist high school students with the admissions process. We encourage any of our NEO students who may have questions about the application process or community service requirement to attend this free event,” said Emilee Truelove, director of the American Indian Center for Excellence at NEO.  NEO has over 600 tribal students; nearly 90 attend on the Cherokee Nation Scholarship.  For more information, contact Truelove at 918-540-6137 or Emilee.truelove@neo.edu.
