Members of the Staff Association at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College (NEO), named Lisa Severe, as November’s Staff of the Month winner. Employees of the College nominated Severe for her dedication to NEO.
Severe said, “I am very humbled to be named ‘Employee of the Month.’ I truly enjoy working at NEO, especially in the Athletic Department. I get to work with the coaches, who make my job so fun and are such a great group to be around. To have the opportunity to get to know our athletes is just an extra bonus – they are the best group of students. I feel very fortunate to be a part of this department.”
Severe is originally from Fairland, Okla. but had not lived in the area until she and her family returned six years ago. During her years away, she worked as the marketing coordinator and assistant ticket manager for the University of Oklahoma. Severe also worked in sales and marketing for Kerusso and was the marketing director for the Miami Tribe. She now serves as the athletic administrative assistant at NEO.
Severe has been married to her husband, Kevin Severe, for 25 years. They reside in Fairland, and together they have two children.
“Lisa goes above and beyond to get students and other NEO employees involved in the NEO experience. Her dedication to homecoming is a separate job in addition to her daily duties,” said Kathryn Vanover, bookstore manager. “She has a big heart for the students and for NEO. She works well beyond her eight-hour day, and she keeps on coming back.”
