Officials at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College (NEO), announced Giana Epps will be singing the National Anthem at the Homecoming pre-game show on Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012. Epps is 12 years old from Overland Park, Kan. and has always dreamed of singing at her family’s alma mater, NEO. “It will be exciting to sing our national anthem in a stadium where Dad (Jack Epps), Uncle Don (Don Mustain) and my Papa Great (her Great Grandfather – Hubert Mustain) all played football for the Golden Norsemen,” Epps said.

Epps contacted NEO last year about singing for Homecoming, but other arrangements had already been made. “When we were contacted again this year we knew she was really interested and we wanted to see what she could do,” said Dale Patterson, Head Coach and Athletic Director for NEO. “Once we heard this little girl sing we knew we wanted to have her join us for Homecoming. She is very talented, and we look forward to the day she can be a music/theatre student at NEO herself.”

Epps has performed this year as “Annie” in Kansas City Stageworks Production of Annie and as “Lucy” in Trilogy Culture Arts’ production of Narnia. The public is invited to come hear Epps sing at the homecoming game this Saturday, Oct. 13th. Kickoff is at 2 p.m.
