The first semester of a two semester course designed for (1) students whose major requires only one semester of a non-survey inorganic chemistry or (2) students whose major requires two semesters of inorganic chemistry at a basic level. The course places emphasis on atomic theory, bonding concepts, molecular structure and geometry, inorganic nomenclature, chemical quantities, chemical reactions and stoichiometry.
