The Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College (NEO) Freshman Equine Judging Teams were recently named Champions and Reserve Champions of the National Reining Horse Association (NRHA) Futurity Horse Judging Contest in Oklahoma City, Okla.

Under the direction of Assistant Equine Judging Coach Josi Reed, NEO students also claimed eight of the top ten spots. Freshman Taylor Scheulen, an Equine and Ranch Management Major from Linn, Mo., was named champion and Jenna Scali, a freshman Agriculture major from Raymore, Mo., earned reserve champion. Ariana Horton, Olivia Robinson,Hallie Horsman, Hannah Tweed, Janessa Rice, and Hannah McLochlin also finished in the top ten.

“This is a great start for our freshman team,” said Reed. “They put in tons of hard work this semester and it definitely paid off! Coach Jones and I can’t wait to see what this group of talented students will do in the future!”
