Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College will induct Coach Mike Loyd into the NEO Athletic Hall of Fame. The Athletic Hall of Fame Banquet and Alumni Reception, originally scheduled during homecoming weekend, have been postponed to a date to be determined next spring in light of the ever-changing impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Coach Mike Loyd began coaching at NEO in 1991 and served as head coach for five seasons. During his first season at NEO, Coach Loyd and the Golden Norsemen defeated Northwest Mississippi College in the Coca-Cola Mid America Bowl, which led them to clinch the 1991 National Championship. Coach Loyd would go on to lead the Norsemen to three more National Championship games.  Under the direction of Loyd, the Golden Norsemen defeated Butler Community College to win their second bowl title, The Mineral Water Bowl, in 1993. Over the span of five seasons, Coach Loyd led the Golden Norsemen to an overall record of 44-7 and coached 18 NJCAA All-Americans. For more information please contact NEO Athletics at 918-540-6327.
