Marching Band Competition

Miami Music In Motion Marching Festival
September 23rd, 2017

Miami Music in Motion is a marching contest that is designed for smaller 2A-4A bands in our area that are looking an early season contest that will offers early comments and critique as bands move closer to the heights of their seasons. This contest is open to any that would like attend. It will be judged on an OSSAA format with caption awards in class for Drum Major, Color Guard and Percussion. There will also be a sweepstakes award for the top three bands with the combined highest scores from all classes. Classifications will be based on the Oklahoma Secondary Schools Activities Association ADM for each school, not band size.

For those that may not be familiar with Miami and our facilities. Miami High School and Northeastern A&M College have a joint stadium. It is state of the art and a great venue for performance. That being said, this contest is hosted by both Miami High School and NEO. Therefore, both Miami High School Band and the NEO Norsemen Bands will be performing exhibition performances and Miami High School will be marching for comments only in exhibition.

The judging format with be such that there will be 3 judges for music, marching and GE, and separate judges for Color Guard and Percussion.
