NEO announced that Jeremy Jackson will become the head basketball coach for the Golden Norse Basketball Team. Jackson was tapped for the position as Dustin Grover transitions into the role of assistant vice president for academic affairs. “I have faith that Jeremy will continue the success that we have built in the men’s basketball program,” said Dale Patterson, NEO athletic director. “He has served with us as an assistant coach for many years and Dr. Hale and I agreed that he was prepared to step up and continue our great tradition.”

Jackson has been with the NEO basketball program for 9 years after travelling from California to serve as assistant coach. During his tenure, the Golden Norse team has won two regional championships and made two trips to the NJCAA National Tournament. The team has also produced multiple Division 1 transfers, three All-Americans, and eight All-Conference players. “NEO has given me so much and this program has become like my family,” said Jackson at the press conference. “There are four reasons I am standing here today: I love basketball, I love Miami, I love NEO, and I love to win. We have a lot of hard work to do, but this team is prepared to put in the work to meet our goals.” Jeremy lives in Miami with his wife and two children. He will officially begin as head coach during the summer term. For more information about NEO basketball, contact Nancy Roberts at Nancy.Roberts@neo.edu.
