Officials at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College, (NEO) are proud to announce art students will have work on display and for sale on Sat., Oct. 4, 2014, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Peoria Show Place at Buffalo Run Casino in Miami, OK. The purpose of the show is to raise awareness of breast cancer and raise funds to help in its early detection. The month of October is the official breast cancer awareness month.  Students will receive 50 percent commission of the sale of their art, and 50 percent of the sale will go to the Freeman Hospital Women’s Pavilion in Joplin, to help fund early detection procedures.

“This is the first time the Art Program at NEO A&M has partnered with Buffalo Run, and I am excited about the opportunity for students to have their art on display beyond the college campus, with the potential to earn some money for their work. Students have submitted drawings, paintings and photographs with various subjects and styles, so the contents of the exhibit will appeal to a wide range of artistic tastes,” says art instructor, Jessica Stout.

There will be different types of art for sale including acrylic and oil paintings, watercolor paintings, drawings, and photographs.  The subject matter and medium of the art in the sale is at the discretion of the student artists, although themes of hope and the celebration of life are encouraged.
