The Athletic Department at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College (NEO) will host its first annual Legend Series banquet featuring An Evening with Tom Osborne, former University of Nebraska coach and football legend. The banquet will take place Thursday, September 17, 2015 at 6 p.m. inside the Calcagno Family Ballroom of NEO’s Bruce G. Carter Student Union.

“Our goal for the Legend Series includes two parts,” said Dale Patterson, NEO athletic director.  “First we hope to raise money for every sport at NEO. Secondly, we want to provide opportunities for students, alumni and citizens to hear from great legends of the collegiate athletic world. Tom Osborne is one of these legends. We are so honored to host him on NEO’s campus.”

Osborne is a former Nebraska football coach, college athletic administrator and politician. He served as the University of Nebraska football team head coach for 25 years, 1973-97, and he is noted as one of the most successful college coaches ever. One of his many achievements includes an impressive coaching record of 255-49-3. After coaching, Osborne was elected to national Congress as a Nebraska United States Representative where he served three terms.  He then returned to the University of Nebraska as athletic director until he retired in 2013. “I had the privilege of playing for Coach Osborne when I attended the University of Nebraska,” said Ryan Held, NEO head football coach. “He is someone I greatly respect; I look forward to the evening.”

Tickets are $125 per person ($1,000 per table of eight). They can be purchased by calling the NEO Athletic Department at 918-540-6327 or email lsevere@neo.edu.  Reservations are required as seating is limited.
