Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College (NEO) will honor six American heroes at the annual Military Appreciation Night football game to be held on Sept. 2, 2017. Gale C. Black, Robert “Bob” Cline, Robert Gelso, Major General Jerry Grizzle, Elizabeth West, and Representative Josh West have made incredible sacrifices in defense of the United States of America, and NEO would like to invite the community as we honor them during halftime of the game. “This is one of our most popular games as we pay tribute to the members of our community who have dedicated their services to our country,” said Dale Patterson, NEO athletic director. “We received numerous nominations and it was very tough to narrow the selection down to six individuals. To show our appreciation for our men and women of all armed services, we want to invite all active and retired military personnel to come to the game as our guest.”

Prior to the game, NEO will host a tailgate dinner at 4:30 p.m. outside of Red Robertson Stadium. Cost of attendance is $6 for non-students, and tailgaters can choose from a variety of hot dog sausages and toppings, along with a drink and dessert. The American Legion Color Guard will present the flag for the National Anthem and the Military Appreciation game against New Mexico Military Institute will kick off at 6 p.m. Tickets will be available at the gate for $5 for general admission and $10 for reserved seating. Active and retired military personnel will receive free admission to the game with ID.
