After winning the District O Championship, Saturday, in Lee’s Summit, Missouri, the Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College Lady Norse will travel to Charleston, West Virginia on November 16-18, to compete in the NJCAA Women’s Division II National Volleyball Tournament. The district No. 2 seed Lady Norse, representing Region II, squared off Saturday against No. 3 seed East Central College of Union, Missouri, in a semifinal match. NEO earned a 3-1 win over the Lady Falcons (16-17) in the single elimination playoff. Facing No. 1 seed and Region XVI champion Metropolitan Community College-Longview (21-13) on their home court, the Lady Norse handed the Lady Lakers a 3-0 shutout. The Lady Norse (22-12) opened the best-of-five match with a 25-18 victory in the first game. After NEO won 25-19 in the second game, the Lady Norse earned their first district championship since 2012 with a 25-21 victory in the third game.
