Jim Rowland, head women’s basketball coach at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College (NEO), was named the Oklahoma Colligate Athletic Conference (OCAC) 2016 Women’s Basketball Coach of the Year. This was the third year in a row for Rowland to receive this honor. “The past three years, Coach Rowland has lead his team to the conference title and it is only fitting that he is honored with this award,” said Dale Patterson, NEO athletic director. “Rowland is an exceptional coach and person. He definitely has a passion for the sport and his record speaks for itself. We are very fortunate to have him at NEO. He is well deserving of this award and all of us at NEO are proud of his accomplishments.”

Rowland is in his eleventh season as head coach for the Lady Norse has an impressive 255 – 88 overall record, making him the second most winningest coach in NEO women’s basketball history. He was named the (OCAC) Coach of the Year in 2014, 2015, and now again in 2016. The Lady Norse won the Region II Tournament and will travel to the NJCAA National Tournament in Lubbock, Texas. There, the Lady Norse will play Lake Region State from North Dakota on Monday, March 14, 2016 at the Rep Griffin Center.
