Officials at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College (NEO) recently announced that Lady Norse Basketball Player Maria Delgado was selected as a 2017 National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) First Team All-American.  “I am so proud of Maria,” said Jim Rowland, head coach for the Lady Norse. “She has been an incredible player for NEO these past two years. She is a team player with a great work ethic and a drive to succeed. Maria lost her mom and her grandmother this past year and every game she plays, she dedicates to them.”

Delgado is a 5’ 9” sophomore from Bucaramanga, Columbia. During the most recent season, she shot an impressive thirty-eight percent from behind the arch and she averaged sixteen points, four rebounds, and two assist per game. She was also named as the 2017 All-Region Player of the Year. Delgado is the daughter of the late Esperenza Delgado. NEO Lady Norse Hatty Nawezhi was also named third team All-American. Along with their All-American honors, Delgado and Nawezhi were voted to the All-Conference and All-Region teams.
